I am an experienced and passionate educator that specialises in curriculum design across humanities-based subjects and environmental science. I offer a range of time-saving services to help teachers and subject leaders create empowering learning experiences.

My Story
When I embarked on my PGCE, little did I know that it would ignite a passion for teaching. Originally intending to pursue a career in environmental education, to my surprise I found that I enjoyed the classroom environment, designing captivating lessons, and sharing my enthusiasm for geography.
​
Since 2012, I have had the privilege of teaching in various schools across Kent, each offering a unique context and valuable experiences.
Currently, as the Subject Leader for Geography and Environmental Systems and Societies, I have the opportunity to leverage my expertise and passion to ignite an interest in and concern for the wider world. Previously, I led a Humanities department, which offered the opportunity to nurture students' understanding of geography, history, religious studies, and citizenship.

One of my most fulfilling endeavours whilst Head of Humanities was the creation of a curriculum from scratch. It was no easy task, but witnessing the positive impact on students made every challenge worthwhile. Later as I started my current role, I eagerly embraced the challenge of redesigning the geography curriculum, aiming to provide an inspiring and cohesive learning experience for our students.
While I specialised in geography, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching history, environmental science, and religious studies. Moreover, I am deeply committed to developing curricula that embrace diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment. I strive to integrate education for sustainable development and foster a sense of global citizenship. I strongly believe that education should be engaging, meaningful, and accessible for all.

How to Survive and Thrive in the First Five Years
Teaching is a delightfully rewarding, wonderfully enlightening and diverse career. Yet, at present, teacher recruitment and retention are in crisis, with some of the most at risk of leaving the profession being those in their early years of teaching.
Making it as a Teacher offers a variety of tips, anecdotes, real-life examples and practical advice to help new teachers survive and thrive through the first 5 years of teaching, from the first-hand experiences of a teacher and middle leader.
